Teacher salaries for the 2010-2011 school year for 9 months of service range from $33,500 to $51,600: depending upon training and experience. Benefits include teacher retirement, employee health insurance, and professional development incentives. The district has a career ladder program, which recognizes professional service above the established schedule. Qualified applicants should be eligible for Missouri Certification for all listed vacancies.

Substitute Teaching Positions

Beginning with the 2010-2011 school year, the Missouri Department of Education has implemented a new process to apply as a substitute teacher. 

New Substitute Teachers:

You will need to apply with DESE before submitting your application to Neosho R-5 Schools.  Go to www.dese.mo.gov to begin your application process.  Please contact the certification office at 573-751-0051 if you have any questions about the online process.

Once you have been cleared by the State, you may pick up a substitute application at out offices at 115 East Hickory, Neosho, MO  64850.

**If you hold a valid Missouri teaching certificate, you must apply for a certified teacher substitute certificate.  This must be done online with DESE. **

Returning Substitute Teachers:

You will need to check the DESE website to see if you are verified to sub for the following year. 

If you did NOT work at least one full day in the district the previous year, DESE requires you to re-apply as a substitute teacher. 

Substitute certificates will NO LONGER be mailed.  Your certificate may be viewed and printed on the DESE website.
