Teacher salaries for the 2011-2012 school year for 9 months of service range from $34,000 to $52,100: depending upon training and experience. Benefits include teacher retirement, employee health insurance, and professional development incentives. The district has a career ladder program, which recognizes professional service above the established schedule. Qualified applicants should be eligible for Missouri Certification for all listed vacancies.

Administrative Positions 

  • Executive Director of Operations - Must be certified as an Administrator in the state of Missouri; Responsibilities would include but not limited to: 

    Assist in the financial planning for the district. Oversees the departments of technology, transportation, maintenance and food services; presides over the student suspension hearings, student discipline issues,  resolves residency concerns and student transfers; works with building principals on attendance policies, student insurance, property and liability insurance, facility usage, copy and print room use, drop-out data, graduation rate, ADA food service data, summer school, construction, capital outlay purchases, and other issues pertaining to the operation of schools.

Certified Positions    

  • Mathematics Teacher, grade 8
  • Social Studies Teacher, grades 9-12
  • Instructional Coach- needs at least 4 years of teaching experience 
  • Communication Arts Teacher, grades 9-12
  • Mathematics Teacher, grades 9-12

Nurse Positions
There are no openings at this time. 

Support Staff Positions 

  • Building Secretary
  • Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant - Appropriate certification is required.

Substitute Teaching Positions

New Substitute Teachers:

You will need to apply with DESE before submitting your application to Neosho R-5 Schools.  Go to www.dese.mo.gov/divteachqual/teachcert/  to begin your application process.  Please refer to the "Help Guide to Certification System" on this page, if you have any questions.

Once you have been cleared by the State, you may fill out the following application.  Please email (haystammie@neosho.k12.mo.us)  or return packet to our offices at 418 Fairground Road, Neosho, MO  64850. 

Substitute Teacher Application

Returning Substitute Teachers:

You will need to check the DESE website ( www.dese.mo.gov/divteachqual/teachcert/ )to see if you are verified to sub for the following year.
Go into the licensure system to your profile to verify that you have a certificate.  Please refer to the "Help Guide to Certification System" if you have any questions. 

If you did NOT work at least one full day in the district the previous year, DESE requires you to re-apply as a substitute teacher. 

Substitute certificates will NO LONGER be mailed.  Your certificate may be viewed and printed on the DESE website.
